Report a concern
Violations are development or alteration activities that require a permit from SVCA but are proceeding without one, or are permitted works that are not following the permit or approved plans.
Examples of activities that require a permit include:
- Constructing a new home, building, or structure;
- Additions to existing buildings or structures;
- Demolition of buildings or structures where excavation is necessary;
- Digging, grading, or placing fill;
- Installing culverts or other stream crossings;
- Agricultural drainage projects;
- Erosion control projects;
- Watercourse clean outs;
- Shoreline alterations.
…when they are taking place in or near:
- Lake shorelines
- Wetlands
- Rivers, creeks, and drains
- Valleys and steep slopes
- Areas subject to flooding
To report a possible violation, please contact the Resources Information Technician
If you observe:
- pollution spilled on land, in the water or in the air
- industrial or commercial noise pollution
- waste being dumped into the natural environment
- improper disposal of commercial waste
